Commonly Asked Questions

Why are implants the best way to replace teeth?

Implants are the best option for people looking to replace missing teeth because they are the closest thing to a natural tooth. By placing a titanium tooth root below the gums, and then attaching a crown above the gums, you can be confident that you'll have all of the function back (and more!) than if you had a natural tooth. It also stops bone loss, which can cause all sorts of issues if it isn't handled.

Can't I just get dentures instead of implants?

Dentures are a great temporary option for people looking to replace their teeth. Most go the denture route because it's more affordable, however, it doesn't stop the bone from further deteriorating. If the bone isn't saved, down the road it can cause severe jaw pain, wrinkles, and more lost teeth that may be too expensive or too late to fix. Not to mention that our patients complain that non-implant-supported dentures are very uncomfortable, with lots of adhesive and plastic everywhere, making it difficult to eat, talk, and perform normal functions. The best affordable option that is to get 2-4 implants to support the denture

Does getting implants hurt?

No! After an implants procedure, most of our patients report that they didn't feel any pain, and most are able to go to work the next day. Most patients just take some Ibuprofen and are good to go. Due to no nerves being present inside of the gums (they are only in the teeth), all you need is a small bit of numbing gel, and then a small needle that numbs the rest of the mouth, and there isn't any pain. Anesthetic and laughing gas are also available to make sure that the surgery experience is as enjoyable as possible.
